What is Mini Facelift?
A mini-facelift is an ideal procedure for those experiencing the first signs of ageing and skin sagging. The procedure lifts the jawline, neck and cheeks and in considerably less invasive and less expensive than a traditional facelift.
The Procedure
A mini facelift is performed at one of the CQC-accredited private clinics by a specialist cosmetic surgeon we refer you to. The procedure is performed under general anaesthetic, meaning you will be asleep for the procedure and will not feel any pain. During the procedure, the surgeon will make small incisions in front of and/ or behind your ears and along your hairline. The skin will then be lifted and secured with very fine stitches. The procedure normally takes 1-2 hours and you may need to stay overnight (depending on the time and complexity of your procedure). Following your procedure, the surgeon aims to return you safely to your own home the same day or the morning after your surgery.
Later Progress
After surgery, you may feel bruised and sore but this will subside over the coming week. Normally, no more than simple analgesia such as paracetamol is sufficient. We normally recommend people have about two weeks off work to recover and recuperate from the surgery. All of the aftercare is included in your package, meaning you can relax, safe in the knowledge that all your follow-up appointments, dressings, any required medications and much more is covered by your comprehensive aftercare programme. There will be scarring in the areas of incision, however, these can be easily hidden by most hairstyles. In time, the scars will fade to very fine white marks.

Yes, the results of a mini-facelift are permanent, however your skin will continue to age as normal after the procedure. The results of a mini-facelift are not as long-lasting as a traditional surgical facelift.
We recommend that people take two weeks off work following the procedure (more if your job is particularly physical). Strenuous activities, heavy lifting and intense exercise should be avoided for about 6 weeks after your surgery.
Yes, a traditional facelift is an alternative. Your surgeon can advise if this would be more suitable for you.

Whenever skin is cut, nerves are also cut; this may result in altered sensation to the area, particularly at the incision site. All care will be taken to maintain sensation as much as possible.
You should be at a healthy weight for your height when you have surgery as this lowers risks related to anaesthetic. For the best aesthetic results, we recommend that you are at your ideal weight at the time of surgery as further weight loss or gain can change the results of your surgery.
You should check with your surgeon regarding safe timings of air travel following your surgery. Many airlines have their own protocols and you should inform your travel insurance company if you have had recent surgery.
We recommend that in the weeks after surgery, you are close to one of the locations Nu Cosmetic Clinic can refer you to in case you have any concerns, so foreign holidays may be best avoided until a few months after your procedure.
All clients must be at least 18 years of age to have surgery. We would not normally consider this surgery for people under 35 years old. We do not set an upper age limit for our procedures; suitability for surgery will be discussed at your free consultation with your surgeon.
